The area has a population of 5.83 million (as of the 2006 Census Bureau estimate). Philadelphia, being the region's major commercial, cultural, and industrial center, maintains a rather large sphere of influence that affects those counties that immediately surround it. The majority of the region's populace resides in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

THE REALITY
Despite the increasing number of organizations with development initiatives for fathers and families, the community lacks a body of knowledge about the characteristics, roles and impact of these organizations and the issues they face as they try to provide professional services to assist them.
Well before the current economic state, community based organizations and programs were facing funding problems forcing them to downsize
their programs or in many cases close their doors.
The average practitioner has to manage double the amount of cases recommended to compensate for the lack of resources, manpower and funding.
THE DVFFC PROGRAM
The program consists of training, workshops, seminars and on-line resources offered throughout the year. Our programs support those who provide an array of services, i.e. involvement during pregnancy, paternity, early childhood development, mental health, effective parenting, custody and other legal issues for males of all ages defined as biological fathers, stepfathers or father figures ( i.e. adoptive parents, grandparents, mentors etc.)
Become A DVFFC Member
Members will receive assistance in evaluations, participate in film documenting to record the process, monitor the progress and provide comprehensive outcome reports . We strive to develop a cohesive initiative for the future and when necessary initiate legislation to improve the lives of families and families.
THE RESULT
Fathers and families slip through cracks, frustration and stress of practitioners lead to improper management and lack of positive outcomes for the communities they service.
The DVFFC serves to break this cycle
THE SOLUTION: DVFFC
Fathers and organizations both face legitimate issues, however the main issue of actually giving and receiving help between the two still needs to be addressed. The DVFFC focuses on this main issue to place fathers, practitioners and organizations on common ground with the passion to support them and make a viable difference in the lives and careers of fathers and service providers
DVFFC COURSES OF ACTION
The DVFFC Courses of Action have been created and designed to assist diverse fathers and families who are facing various challenges in today's society.
“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
